Shara G. Haden focuses her practice on defending businesses and individuals in trial and appellate litigation. She brings to her practice a unique perspective built on a diverse background of private practice, non-profits, and government that help her advise and advocate for her clients.

She graduated summa cum laude from Auburn University where she received the Alpha Lambda Delta Award for the top graduating senior at Auburn University and was named the Most Outstanding Student in the College of Liberal Arts. After receiving her juris doctor from Washington and Lee School of Law, she clerked for the Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court. Following her clerkship, she practiced civil litigation with an emphasis on election law and constitutional law. She then relocated to Washington, D.C. where she was division director for a major national law and public policy organization. Shifting her focus from domestic to foreign policy, she joined the U.S. Department of State in Global Affairs where her portfolio included democracy and human rights, environmental issues, refugees and migration, women’s issues, and trafficking in persons.

Shara is the mother of two boys, a member of Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church, and an active parent volunteer at the Westminster School at Oak Mountain.
